Hazardous and Noxious Substances (HNS)
There has been a recent steady increase in the number of hazardous noxious substance (HNS) spills. HNS materials are mostly composed of toxic
materials, and their spills have a much more significant impact on marine resources and living organisms in the ocean.
A ground HNS measurement experiment was conducted for artificially spilled HNS by using two hyperspectral cameras at VNIR and SWIR wavelengths.
Spectral mixture analyses including N-FINDR, PPI, ICA, and VCA were applied to the hyperspectral image data to extract pure HNS and endmember
spectra of seawater.
